Pastor Chris Bonsu

Pastor Chris Bonsu is known and loved by his flocks for his excellence in spiritual servant leadership and inspiring biblical preaching and teachings with signs and wonders that challenge people to live meaningful lives and undertake great exploits. He has a heart for leading people to a life of faithfulness to the Lord and always excited to see people of God moved to apply their faith in their everyday lives. Pastor Chris believes in living in harmony with the Word of God and striving in words and deeds to be a worthy example of Christian living.

Pastor Chris is a man of prayer, a visionary and strategic thinker who has successfully directed numerous businesses and served in several churches and fellowships for over twenty-seven (27) years, including three (3) years as an overseer of the Mamprobi Baptist Church in Ghana, six (6) years as a president of the African Christian Fellowship in Sydney and over six (6) years of pioneering and leading Living Word Church International in Australia and Ghana as the Senior Pastor and a “playing coach” to his congregation.

Pastor Chris is happily married to Pastor Vida and blessed with four beautiful ladies and a gentleman, namely, Christiana, Gisele, Patrice, Abigail and Samuel, respectively.

Pastor Vida Bonsu

Pastor Vida Bonsu, also known as Mama Vida, is a cheerful woman of God who has a long marriage and ministry experience with Pastor Chris Bonsu.

Mama Vida is a very industrious, determined and dynamic woman of God with the grace to learn quickly. She strives to always keep a positive attitude and put extra effort in her duties as a mother and pastor’s wife. Her profession as a Registered Nurse has also positively added to her edge in loving, helping and living with people. She is incredibly friendly and an excellent relationship mender.

Ps Vida is particularly passionate about God and about seeking first His kingdom and committed to helping others to experience the grace and the love of God.

Ps Vida is a mother of five adults, a grandmother, a Registered Nurse, a faithfully wife whose part in overseeing Living Word Church International is both unique and very vital to the wholeness of the life of the Church.

What we believe

We believe that the Bible is God's Word. It is accurate, authoritative and applicable to our every day lives.

We believe in one eternal God who is the Creator of all things. He exists in three Persons: God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit. He is totally loving and completely holy.

We believe that sin has separated each of us from God and His purpose for our lives.

We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ as both God and man is the only One who can reconcile us to God. He lived a sinless and exemplary life, died on the cross in our place, and rose again to prove His victory and empower us for life.

We believe that in order to receive forgiveness and the 'new birth' we must repent of our sins, believe in the Lord Jesus Christ, and submit to His will for our lives.

We believe that in order to live the holy and fruitful lives that God intends for us, we need to be baptised in water and be filled with the power of the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit enables us to use spiritual gifts, including speaking in tongues which is the initial evidence of baptism in the Holy Spirit.

We believe that God has individually equipped us so that we can successfully achieve His purpose for our lives which is to worship God, fulfil our role in the Church and serve the community in which we live.

We believe that God wants to heal and transform us so that we can live healthy and prosperous lives in order to help others more effectively.

We believe that our eternal destination of either Heaven or hell is determined by our response to the Lord Jesus Christ.

We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ is coming back again as He promised.

Our Mission

To reach people with the love of God and the truth about God, which has the unfailing power to set people free from the kingdom of darkness. To encourage people to call upon the name of the Lord for salvation.

To challenge the Church to trust God, live as His holy people and be faithful disciples in partnership with Him to change the spiritual and physical conditions of our communities and nations while we wait for the blessed hope, the glorious appearing of our great God and Saviour Jesus Christ.

We carry out our mission by faith-living, preaching the good news of the kingdom of God, teaching the ways of God and loving indeed.

Our History

In February 2005, Living Word Church was planted in Blacktown to meet the need for a local family of believers to which God will have some of His people belong, a multicultural group of Christians equipped to help change the spiritual and physical condition of the Blacktown community and the communities beyond.

LWCI started in a school hall with about 13 people. After a year and a half, we moved from the school hall to our current address, 3/23-27 Second Avenue, Blacktown, for more rooms for the growing number of people and children.

Today, LWCI family is made of faithful people of God from all walks of life doing life together and reaching other people with the love of God, a message of hope and salvation through Christ Jesus.
